Al-Shaheed park guided tour on the 22nd of March

On the 22nd March, we had a guided tour of Al Shaheed Park, which narrates the story of the land, its history and culture,  featuring beautiful botanical gardens.

We started our tour at the Habitat Museum, where we learned about the ecosystem, migratory birds and effects of pollution in Kuwait.

We also saw the Bird Aviary, build to provide a resting area for the numerous migrating birds in Kuwait.

We have visited the Martyr Monument built to honour the martyrs of Kuwait, and the amphitheater which gives opportunity for various educational and cultural programs.

One of the highlights was the Constitution Garden which represents the ‘old era’ and the ‘new era’ of Kuwait.

It was a wonderful morning at the park and getting to know so much about Kuwait!

Guided tour in Souk Mubarakiya on the 8th of March

Outpost organized a walking tour of Souq Mubarakiya, the traditional trading centre in Kuwait. We walked through many of the old markets including Souq Hareem (the Women’s Market). Many of the streets still bear names of the old markets even though their relevance may be long gone, for example, Souq Al-Jatt (the Clover Market). We passed through Mubarakiya School Museum and Sheikh Mubarak’s Khoosh (now also a museum), where Sheikh Mubarak the Great used to hold his daily diwaniya.
Kuwait has many malls and shopping places. The traditional Souk Al-Mubarakiya, however, a location rooted in the past, still remains a relevant market for both locals and tourists.
We want to thank you Iman Martin from the Aware Center, she was our guide and  she knew the souk area extremely well.
